Why should you vote for me to serve another term on the NCRA Board? There is no expiration date on commitment and effectiveness as a leader to this profession.

Experience is an asset when there is work to be done. Make the time, effort, and money you’ve invested in training me count for something. My prior experience will only add to my ability to serve the members’ interests, needs, and concerns. Think of it as a return on your investment.

The Direct Member Voting (DMV) amendment enables you as a member to vote on issues and elections that matter to you and impact our profession even though you cannot be present at the business meeting. I was there at the beginning as the chair of the original task force that investigated the DMV issue and started the ball rolling.  I helped to deliver 26 state resolutions to support DMV to the membership of NCRA in 2005 and I remained involved in the process until its passage in 2007. On July 24, 2008, NCRA history will be made and you can be a part of it.  Make sure NCRA has your email address on file by July 15th so you can participate.

Who do YOU need as a Director of NCRA?  Someone who is tried and true and capable of delivering results with YOUR best interests at heart. Someone who will be able to start the very first day you elect me as an experienced, valued member of the Board of NCRA. There are many issues that affect our association. We need someone who will work on uniting our interests. The time and money you have spent training me will work toward those goals.

What have I done for YOU? I started in state leadership, serving on every committee Michigan had, culminating in being president. Revamping the state CSR process, the inner workings of the organization, creating the first ever MAPCR store, and continuing to this day working with the legislative committee on contracting, page rate, and any other issue that confronts the reporting profession. My peers in MAPCR acknowledged my dedication to the court reporting profession by bestowing me with the Distinguished Service Award in October of 2007.
On the NCRA front:
I was there for the re-creation of NCSA into a new and improved NCSA. Very few people are aware that I was there when the idea was born and helped every step of the way.

The 2004 rewrite of the bylaws, while it was not passed on by the membership, brought to the forefront the power of YOU. I was in on that too, working alongside other committee members who saw a vision of an association that had your best interests at heart.
