While always striving to advocate for the best interests of the steno profession, let's not forget there's more to it than just method.  There's advocacy, education, and goverance to name a few.  You need leaders who are tried and tested and trusted.

      Before I spearheaded and supported the transition to Direct Member Voting, I believed that members are NCRA's best asset and should be integral to our decision-making process.  July 28 is your chance to choose your next president elect -- someone you already know through my six years as an NCRA director and officer and my state service.  Remember, you the members, elected me to my second term as a director in 2008 and vice president in 2010.
 
     Officials, since 1998 I have competed with ER every single day in my courthouse.  My vacation backup is a video camera and I have kept my job in spite of that.  While I can't guarantee saving anyone's job, I can help you find ways to become part of the team and make yourself a vital participant in your court system.  Freelancers, captioners, CART providers, why would you care about that?  Remember, if officials lose their place they'll be looking for work and your sectors of the industry will be overrun with prior officials. 
 
                  

 

 

 

  NCRF Angels Committee - It was my suggestion that donors have the ability to pay by the month.  In addition to the thousands of dollars I helped to raise for the Foundation being an Angel for the last five years, this system enabled others to pay monthly which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars being donated to the Foundation to fund their programs.

 
    Association Governance - I have a strong background in association governance.  The rewrite of the bylaws in 2004, NCRA C&B Liaison, Chair of MAPCR C&B for years.  Consulted by numerous affiliates on their bylaws.  I've even assisted a yacht club in reworking their bylaws. 
 
 
       Every board member brings their unique perspective to the table, but officers should be willing and able to reach out to all members across the country.  I bring vitality, openness, and energy to the board table.
